LCR 101 Mersey Tunnels Long Term Operations and Maintenance Strategy

The Mersey Tunnels Long Term Operations and Maintenance Document provides a route map on how the Mersey Tunnels will remain operational for the next 30 years.


The decision to approve and adopt the document is a key decision as the document includes references to possible toll collection changes, critical plant replacement, arrangements for autonomous vehicles, air quality, future demands etc. 


It also includes a number of short, medium and long term actions needed to secure the effective and sustainable management of the tunnels, alongside a clear vision and objectives for the tunnels in securing and supporting the City Region economic growth and sets out a 10-year indicative capital investment programme
