LCR 114 - Digital Connectivity Programme Phase 1 - Dig Once Infrastructure Investment Incentivisation Funding

This request meets the key decision criteria as it requests the approval of SIF funds which is in excess of the £0.5m revenue limit and will have a community impact on more than 2 wards in the area of the LCR Combined Authority.

 

The context is the approval of a funding request to the Strategic Investment Fund (round II) for up to £6m, to support the deployment of digital infrastructure aligned to the Liverpool City Region backhaul network through dig once opportunities.

 

Dig-Once is based on planned schemes that are capable of including digital infrastructure (ducting and chambers), delivering at least 30% of the overall network route requirements. This is approximately 66km of new ducting and chambers across the Liverpool City Region.
